How to Rent Camera & Lighting Equipment from ProGear

TWO OPTIONS MAKES IT EASY!

ProGear offers two ways to establish the security deposit needed for renting equipment:

Deposit Terms for Rental

Option One:

Use a Personal Credit Card (card owner must be present)

At the time of pick up, provide us with your Credit Card (not debit card) and a VALID Federal or State ID. We will process a pre-authorization of the card for approximately 75% of the equipment value. That amount will be immediately reversed once the gear is returned. This is not a charge but a temporary Credit Line Hold. The only charge you will see on your account is the final cost of the rental.

Option Two:

Establish an Operating Account (NO Credit Card Pre-Authorization Required)

To establish a permanent account with ProGear, a customer must provide the following items:

A) A Certificate of Insurance that includes a rider that covers rental equipment and the insured amount.

(Policy MUST be at least 6 Months Old and from a US Based Carrier)

Insurance protects us all and ProGear requires our customers to have a Certificate of Insurance (COI) on file. Please be aware that there are many types of insurance and as such, a general Certificate of Liability may NOT protect you against damage, loss, or theft of rental photo equipment. More often than not insurance companies require a special provision, or “rider” to be placed on your existing policy to name specific articles to be insured.

All policies submitted to ProGear are required to include at least the following:
1). Name ProGear, LLC the additionally insured or loss payee
2). Specifically state that the policy is for rented photo equipment (or equivalent verbiage)
3). Policy value is equal to, or greater than, the replacement value of the rented equipment.

Please feel free to download a sample policy to help explain the requirements. The text on the sample form in red, hi-lites the important information required on a policy.
As always, discuss with your insurance agency or agent, exactly what is covered and for what amount in your policy.

B) Our Rental Agreement Form and required Credit Card information and ID’s.

Please note that ProGear does not store any credit card or personal information in electronic form for your protection.
